Avant Garde Computer Music
Dynamic Minimalism

To produce more by doing less and create a spontaneous musical structure utilizing sequences of music events and their permutations (augmentation, diminution, pitch shift and time reversal) activated AT the WILL of the performer and/or composer.

The music sequences ( musical “seeds”, themes and motifs ) are literally music without variation having been recorded prior to performance as midi sequences. All variation is due to the interaction of different sequences as they are activated by the performer. The performer determines structure at the moment of performance. This is to be done not by chance, but by will or whim. No two performances of the same set of sequences should ever be the same (lest something terrible happen).

Hey— it is an easy way to make swell music.

Sounds sort of like 1950s to 1970s avant garde classical music—at least to me, but I think far more listenable than most while retaining the “difficultness” of the genre. Some pieces stray into the “avant garde pop” realm. Hope you enjoy.
