While others were either saying that the face was clearly not there
or complaining about NASAs poor imagery and hinting at conspiracy, I
decided to look elsewhere on the image. About two thirds of the way down the
long enhanced image below the mesa that looks like the island of Sri Lanka
there is a small crater. To the right and above the crater is a natural
ridgebelow that is something of interest.
A straight line is visible aligned to the center of the crater and extending outward at about 2 OClock. The line consists of about 22 oblong (sort of rectangular) objects of similar size (who can tell with the noise and resolution) which all appear to be aligned at a 90 degree angle to the line which they appear to form. The line appears to be about a quarter of a mile long which is just a guess based on the face being about a mile across. Could this be a natural formation? It makes me think of a trailer park or a truck stop. It even has a couple of open slots. Wonder how much they charge for an RV hookup? Considering the amount of noise and lack of bit resolution, it is hard to make strong case for any valid interpretation of these objects until a more detailed image is made. Of particular interest is that there is no indication of this feature on the earlier images. While it would be impossible for the individual objects to be resolved, one might expect a thin line or even lightening of pixels in that area. Is this a recent addition to the area? Could this be the place where the demolition crew that trashed the face called home? Just kidding. No, really, I am just kidding, really. Theories Concerning the Nature of the Row What I believe about the face is that the new image is not visually inconsistant with the older images and suggest that the effect is due to light and shadow. I believe that another picture of the face with similar lighting will produce a similar effect. Softening that image would likely yield a more facelike appearance. Curiously, the current evidence supports both sides of the argumentthats science. |
