“Trailer Park” Cydonia, Mars Computer Animation | |
| The 3D model was made in
Infini-D using a Power Macintosh 6100 AV. The model is not to scale and
the surrounding objects are very rough approximations put in to give a
feel for the terrain. Let the folks at NASA get it just right—they
have the data and the resources. Creative additions not supported by the visual data include the color of the circle (green for astroturf—no Mars base would be complete without it), the extension of the path along the “trailers” which appears to extend only half of the length of the row in the original image, the addition of a sign and a blue vehicle. I made the model to see how these objects would appear when compared to the original image and to be able to change viewpoints. Feel free to take a frame or two from the start of the animation and reduce them to greyscale, darken them and add noise and compare to the original.
